The Regretful Roast of Tom Brady

In the realm of celebrity roasts, few events generate as much buzz as when a beloved icon like Tom Brady takes center stage. Recently, Brady made headlines not just for his prowess on the football field, but for his comedic chops at a roast that left audiences both entertained and surprised. Despite reports of regret, it’s time to celebrate the humor and audacity displayed by the NFL legend and those who love him.

The Roast That Brought IT!

From start to finish, Brady’s three-hour roast was a rollercoaster of laughs, cringes, and jaw-dropping moments. Hosted by Kevin Hart, the event showcased Brady’s willingness to poke fun at himself, his career, and even his family life. We see just how much heat Brady can take as everybody from comedians like Will Ferrell to old teammates Randy Moss, Rob Gronkowski and more touch on his divorce, “Deflategate” and his FTX investment as well as other sore topics. And while some may argue that no topic is off-limits at a roast, it’s clear that Brady embraced the spirit of the event with a laugh and a sip of his drink throughout.

A Comedic Masterpiece

Let’s be honest: we’ve seen our fair share of lackluster roasts in the past. But it seems everybody had something to get off their chest when it came to Tom Brady. Even coach Bill Belichick showed up to everyone’s surprise and took a shot, literally, with both Brady and Patriots owner Robert Kraft Brady’s, putting a pin in the long-standing speculated beef between the three. Outside of the trio’s bromance, the comedic performances were all a breath of fresh air, reminding us why we tune in to these events in the first place. With razor-sharp timing and a willingness to dive headfirst into self-deprecation, Brady proved that he’s not just a winner on the football field—he’s also a winner on the comedy stage.

Making the Kids Sad: A Roast Staple

It’s no secret that roasts thrive on pushing boundaries and toeing the line between humor and discomfort. Tom Brady has now come out, only days after his roast was released as a part of Netflix is a joke Festival, and has ill feelings towards the special.

“I loved when the jokes were about me,” Brady said May 14 while appearing on “The Pivot” podcast with Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor and Channing Crowder.

“I thought they were so fun. I didn’t like the way it affected my kids. So, it’s the hardest part about, like the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize ‘I wouldn’t do that again’ because of the way that it affected, actually, the people I care about the most in the world.”

The Verdict: Mission Accomplished

At the end of the day, the success of a roast isn’t measured by who gets offended—it’s measured by the laughter it gets. And by that metric, Brady’s roast was a triumph. From start to finish, this roast left me laughing until my side hurt. So here’s to you, Tom—from someone who only knows you because of the hate you get. Thanks for the memories, the laughs, and the reminder that even the biggest stars can take a joke.
