Blacks Are Responsible For Racism?

That’s…definitely Tuff

A clip recently went viral from the host of the podcast/online talk show, That’s Tuff Talk show, regarding racism. Jelani Campbell’s comment verbatim was “the reason why white people are racist is because of their experience with black people.” While others on the show pushed back, he doubled down, sharing a story about Keith Lee. Keith Lee, a former MMA fighter turned food critic, experienced less-than-stellar customer service in Atlanta, GA, and this was the exhibit in his argument.

According to the 2020 Census, along with data usa, black people make up 46% of the 520,000 people in Atlanta. White people account for 39.9%. If you’re visiting predominantly black establishments on a food tour and experience underwhelming service, it’s not surprising it happened somewhere black. And considering the historical context of Atlanta-Georgia period- it should be off limits to say Atlanta and racism in the same sentence.

If you are white and racist, that’s just who you are. Black people have nothing to do with how you feel, think or act. Don’t give the minority that much credit. America has had many years and chances to right the wrongs of this land but it has been easier to bury it under water, parks and paperwork. This nation, that is resilient enough to be a modern-day Wakanda, continuously falls beneath the life, liberty and pursuit of justice it promised. All because it refuses to admit a wrong so we all can move on.

We can’t even discuss slavery. And as the current administration is doing everything to dismantle any ounce of black history, it goes to show how much America has learned. Black people are resilient and have survived worse. Before you fix your mouth to tell one to go back where they came from, know that the majority of the black community didn’t ask to be here. There is a lineage somewhere with some form of brutality that involves being forced on a boat years ago…anyway.

Victim blaming is so exhausting and this topic shows just how far a lie can go. Black people have been blamed for their mistreatment since slavery. Being beat with one had and preached to about being ideal slaves with the other hand is diabolical. But since there has never been a reckoning on American soil, let the blame game continue.
