If you’ve caught the NBA playoff series and now the finals, you can agree it has been pretty amazing, especially for the Indiana Pacers. To be a team that everybody counted out, and now, dominating down to the last second has been joyous to watch.
3-Point Wins
They went head-to-head with the Milwaukee Bucks, beat out the Cleveland Cavaliers, made a fool of the New York Knicks and now are in a battle with the Oklahoma Thunder. Now, making a fool of the Knicks may be a stretch but in that series, you saw the Knicks slack off in the last 5 minutes of the game. Thinking they had it in the bag, rim rather, you saw them celebrate after layups and smiling just a little too hard with time still left on the board. With a 17-point deficit, the Pacers came back to tie the game, ultimately winning it 138-135.
What the Haliburton
The same thing happened with the Bucks in Game 5 which ended in overtime, along with Cleveland being beat out in Game 4 by one of Haliburton’s many 3-point shots. Talk about dedication. Haliburton will have you on the edge of your seat with hardly any time left. In all three series’ he has come through with a 3-pointer after 3-pointer with seconds on the clock to win the game. As one of the leaders in this franchise, his display of pushing teamwork doesn’t go unnoticed. He plays a great game on the court and off, constantly praising his teammate’s abilities throughout the game and in post-game interviews.
A Team Effort
You are only as good as your team. When there is good chemistry and an environment conducive to playing the game, you can tell and feel it. And that is what the Pacers have. From the rotations to the camaraderie on the court that had allowed them to come back from dramatic deficits shows just how much working together pays off. Haliburton, Nesmith and Siakam are great on their own but are a movement together, playing off of each other for the greater good of the team.
Please Let Them Play
This series has not been without fault either. Whether the Pacers have been playing away or in Indiana, the refs have been unfair in their calling of the game, which makes the wins even sweeter. If the refs are not calling fouls, shoves, or travels, they are making bogus calls that try to deter and discourage the Pacers. But even with all that, the Pacers persevered and have come out on top every time.
Don’t Count Them Out
There is just something about catching a good game. Just watching two teams battle it out for the win. Where you can see them sweating out the hard work they have persevered through to get to this point. Pushing past anything threatening to hold them back to get to the other side of the win. The Pacers finished the 2024-2025 season with a record of 50-32 and although not terrible, nobody expected them to crush the competition as they have in the playoffs. And now that we’re in the finals, things are already looking great.
Let’s go Pacers.
